The US Department of Labor reports a decline in the 2013 unemployment rates for veterans who have served since 2001.  While this news is promising, this downward trend is not present for all veterans.  Younger veterans aged 18-24 are experiencing an unemployment rate of 21.4%; this is despite the training and job skills these younger veterans have acquired in the military.  For North Carolina veterans, the unemployment rate is 6.2%, highlighting the importance of continued support for employment programs.
