Since the launching of the NC Military Pipeline program in March 2015, Governor Pat McCrory has strongly advocated for the employment of military Veterans post-deployment. On February 10, the NC Department of Information Technology and Cisco collaborated to sponsor a job fair at Camp Lejeune. Over 65 service members, with an interest in working in information technology in state government, attended.
On February 12, ten Veterans were among the 29 cadets graduating with the State Highway Patrol as a part of the Governor’s employment initiative. The new troopers took 1,160 hours of training during the 29-week basic school and are currently completing a 12-week field training program.
